3/16" thick Roll-Up Chair Mats are recommended for use on all flat surfaces (hardwood & tile) and commercial-grade carpeting. 5/16" thick Roll-Up Chair Mats, besides the surfaces listed above, can be used on very low pile carpeting of 3/8" or less.

(Soft Rubber and soft polyurethane rollers/casters on office chairs are recommended for use on the Bamboo Chair Mats. Definitely do not use metal rollers/casters).
